YARIS 1.8L TS/SR ENGINE SWOP 2ZZ-GE??

Hello!

I own a 2009 Yaris 1.8 TS and is thinking of swopping the engine for the 2ZZ-GE motor. I have find out and they have told me that the engine mounting brackets are the same and the gearbox are also the correct gearbox for the motor? I would just like to confirm that?

Another question is if i do the swop will all the stuff like my key less entry and traction control and basically all the warning lights and so still function as normal?? Basically all the electronic stuff. What about the engine management? Can I use it on that motor and just get it chiped and remapped?

Any advice would be awesome!!

Thanks!

Sorry, can't answer you questions but I'm sure there are plenty here in North America who would be happy to take your cast-off 1.8 L (although shipping could be brutal).

The best Advice for you is, Yes it can be done and it has been done by a few members.... Your going to need time and money for the most part, also you need to make sure you want to cut the frame and re-weld for fitment of the tranny. Someone please correct me if im wrong, but the biggest problem guys had was tranny fitment cause the frame or cradle was in the way.

leave the 2zr-fe motor in , do the basics ,good exhaust and air intake , and you will see how the engine comes alive , i run a stock 2zzge corolla here in south africa between the lights , the 2zr-fe has potential ;-)

Thanx for everyone's replies! I think I am going to leave the swop idea and go with new exhaust, induction and chip. Any advice on that??

please post what "chip" you plan on buying before you purchase.. there are MANY scams out there about those chips that do nothing. Most "chips" are scams anyways..

the stock exhaust runs approx 57mm the header , through the cats to the middle box , after that its reduced to 45mm , i we up to 57mm with a megan racing back box , works like a charm , makes a great improvement over stock.
