To make sure, can you compare with another yaris? I am not doubting your diagnosis skills, but sometimes we think we hear abnormal noises when in fact they are normal. I know when my compressor kicks on, there is a humming noise.

Then again, you are asking to just rebuild a compressor. In that case, yes. If you have the know how and tools to do this, you can rebuild the compressor yourself. make sure you shim the clutch correctly. I do not know where you would find parts for this though. couldnt find any on the interweb

If you just bought a new compressor though (new or reman) and you suspect a defect, It should be under warranty still. Also, you may have too much or too little 134 in the system..
