yup it's time, im bored with the yaris and annoyed by not having power windows and locks, i also want an automatic or a car that is worth having a manual in.
anyone know what kinda trade in im looking at?
S sedan, non power package, 9600miles
im gonna be pissed if they don't give me a good amount over what i owe cause i got it at employee discount and put 2k down.
oh ya anyone want some slightly used (6000miles) nf210's???

from experience, the day your drove off the lot, the cars price dropped about 25-35%...

Sorry you are trading in. But why didn't you get what you wanted (such as power windows, locks, auto) when you purchased? Of course it is more money and will be on any other car you end up purchasing. Good luck.

As a suggestion, go to Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book and they will give you numbers for a trade in or direct sell by you.

If you didn't pay in cash, I'd bet you haven't even covered the gap yet.
What was your down payment?

If your friends aren't telling you to just rough it out with this car for now, they're not your friends.

The yaris for my family has become somewhat redundant so its now my 'toy' more or less. I looked into selling it and the lots around here are totally not interested, regardless of what they may or may not be willing to give me for it. I just paid just under 18k cash in november and they said maybe 13k maybe less - we have Yaris overload around here, at least on the lots. If its financed just try and get someone to take over payments, if not then sell it private cause the dealer will have you bent over so quick you wont know what happened.

Wait until gas gets over $3.00/Gal. You should have some private parties get very interested at that point.

FYI: Normally, buying a new car and selling it after only 6 months is NOT a money making proposition - as you are finding out.

All it took for me was the first semi warm day of the year a few days ago and I got bored of the Yaris really quick. LOL

I say you should trade it in now before it loses any more value.

Wow this is unfortunate...it seems there was so much excitement from this car now its like whatever...I guess people have different expectations, which is a give in. Is the Yaris really that "bad" that you're having buyers remorse? I'd say pan it out a little and see where you end up...sometimes you might surprise yourself...not to bash anyone but did you ever wonder that if you get another car you might get "bored" with that too? Obviously something new especially a car will exciting and at times you'll be like oh I wish I had that car or this car or more power but I think that if you wait you might be like maybe I'll stick with it. Everyone's different so obviously it depends on you and you're situation. Oh well, we all have our quirks.

I guess I should loan El Jefe my avatar - Japanese for "Short attention span", or so I'm told.... Considering what they write on their clothes in English (www.engrish.com) I hate to think what it REALLY means

instead of trading it in just do an engine swap, 3sgte or a 2zz, monkeywrenchracing.com for the swap, get the full race engine package and i dont think you will get bored from 200+hp

well, if you are bored with it trade it in a guess. if it was me i would just buy a power lock and window conversion kit or wait till yaris start showing up in junk yards and swap it out yourself.

power lock and a remote entry system are actually pretty cheap, here in oregon you can get some power lock actuaters and a alarm system to operate them and be a theft deterant for around 500 bucks installed.

considering you are going to loose thousands in trading the car in, why not get power locks and a few other goodies to make your yaris "more exciting" instead of dumping all that cash in another car loan.

thats what i would do, but hey, its your money :)
this time around be very carefull and get a car with the options you want that way you wont have buyers remorse in a few months.

Yea i traded mine in about a month ago for a 07 Civic Si Coupe and couldn't be happier. The yaris just wasn't me, i just needed to get some credit down. They gave me about 70% what i paid for it w/ 20k miles so i kinda gapped a bit, not too much tho. The HP was just killin me. Kinda sucks tho, went from average 33mpg to around 22 mpg.

Not tryin to flame but i'd go w/ a civic. 140 hp and close to the MPG of the yaris. Or wait for the 08 Matrix or Corolla, i'm pretty sure they're changin bodies this year.
