It's a cvt gearbox. Just like the Prius has for example.
But it works better than in the Prius in my opinion.

But that's no problem at all! But in Europe, especially the Netherlands you throw your car before another one ;-)
But i think driving conditions here are not comparable with the USA.

I have a diesel Yaris and i drives great but you pay much more roadtaxes. The price of diesel less expensive than petrol but several times more expensive than in the US.

yea that is what it it, if you just through your car in front of another in the US they'd hit you and sue you for all you are worth. Getting a license is really easy over here and people are flat out jerks at best.

Yea from what I know y'all pay a ton more in taxes on the car than we do in the US. For example i just paid the yearly excise tax (road tax) on my 2007 and it was $27.

I did test drive the 1,3 auto gear yaris, and I must say ( well I did know it was going to be like this due to the volume of the engine but not as bad ) it's really slow to accelerate once you stop the vehicle and accelerate again.

Also, the dynamic package, it's the one with the 16'' right? Which means you have those " special " 205 tyres? The specs say the 16'' rims with the 205 tyres actually have an increased petrol consumption and much worse turning radius which was quite notable , hence why I went with Active.

The rear camera , foglights touch multimedia station, and start/stop function came in as well. All the other components can be added as well ( and if your lucky like me and know the mechanic you can do the installation much cheaper and get the complete car cheaper but that's just random luck, this is also the reason I didn't go for the dynamic version as I will add the wing, the arm rest , led lights for a very very low price ^_^ ) but mainly I didn't go for the dynamic or style version due to the increased consumption, otherwise it was great fun driving it and the gearbox was fairly quick to respond once you actually were driving and to a fellow asking if it's trip tronic , it's auto/ and semi manual, even comes with floppys! Which is always fun!
