still too insane for me too get a smartphone. The prices are just dumb. When 6 or 7g rolls around and data speeds are the same as good business internet speeds and you can get everything you need for $50 a month or less i will look at them. The phone companies in the us are just screwing everyone over.

LG 800 with Tracfone. Can play music with Blutooth, can watch video but cannot view Youtube or any video online, video must be converted to 3gp, limited to 4 gb micro sdhc, virtual KB, can play some games, OS is Java based, limited web browsing, bought at Amazon with 1 year service and 1200 minutes for less than $40, triple minutes for life. Battery life ok. Carrier is AT&T instead of TMobile.

With redicuoulsy high prices, I just got an ol' fasioned flip phone wilth no texting or net access for a cell in addition to my land line. I grew up in an era when all we had was 6 TV channels, no cell pones and certainly no internet. I do not need to be conected to the entire world 24/7 to feel like I'm not missing something. BTW, I'm not against new technology. I got my first computer back in about 1983 (C-64) and presently have three computers connected to the net, all of which I assembled myself. I just shun technology that I do not need or want and have no desire to have something just for the sake of having the newest this or that. The phone companies keep inventing new services that we really don't need just to pad their coffers and we all fall for this scam. It would seem that the phone companies and those making the smart phones are much smarter than many of the people using them. I know people who can barely afford food and other life's necessities because they need to pay their smart phone bills. Last edited by RedRide; 04-06-2012 at 02:32 PM. |
