Okay, first- GNC is a ripoff. Go here: http://www.bodybuilding.com for much cheaper prices and great customer service. I get all of my stuff from them. The forums are pretty informative, as well.

I'm currently using Chocolate Heavyweight Gainer 900 from Champion Nutrition. It tastes awesome, but you will need a blender- you'll be shaking the shit for an hour to get it to mix.

Pure protein is great and all, but it's a pain in the ass. You see, you need to take in all nutrients proportionally- if you load up on protein, you'll be looking for ways to get all of the other things which are important, like amino acids, L-glutamine and your vitamins. A good weight gainer will do this for you.

Here's some tips:
1) Don't take in more than 40g of protein at one time- that is all that your body can process- the rest goes straight to your kidneys. Kidney stones hurt.

2) No matter what supplement you are taking, it is just that- a supplement. Make sure that you are still eating 5 well rounded meals a day. That will also keep your blood sugar in a happy place, and you will have more energy. Consider adding a fish oil capsule to 3 meals, as well, and drink water. Coca-Cola does not count!

3) If you want gains, you have to work for them. Don't kill yourself, but working each muscle group intensely at least every 3 days is a must. Past 72 hours, the muscles begin using themselves for energy.

Bottom line, you will only get as much out of this as you put in to it, and it does become an obsession.

on a school computer right now, so i'll look up that site at home.

lol...i'm going to invest in a blender within the next couple of days, so i'll blend this stuff that i bought. hopefully it'll be better. oh, Mass-Tech has quite a few vitamins in it, but i should really buy more Centrum again (ran out a while back).

and i'm only using 1-2 scoops of Mass-Tech with 1.5-2 cups of soy milk once or twice a day. so i'm not getting too much protein, i think.

i don't really drink Coke, but i drink water at home, and Mountain Dew, Fruit Punch, and unsweetened ice tea at work. i'll also drink water if i feel a little dehydrated at work as well.

i'm starting to work out more and more now, but i'm going to try not to make this an obsession. lol...thanks for your tips.

I drink more than a gallon of water a day. I take in at least 200 grams of protein a day. No kidney stones, of course I don't take it all at once and it doesn't all come from powder. I take EFA, Glutimine, Creatine, Caffine. I take B-complex, C, D, and E right now. I'm laying off the standard multi. I hate GNC they do rip you off. Personally I like supplementcentral.com. I mix my protein with water and I have learned to love it. I take ON vanilla whey but I also use the Egg Protein by Vitol. I work out 5 days a week. I work my, shoulders, then arms, then legs, then back and then chest choosing one muscle group per day works for me. That way I can focus. It is the season to start increasing cardio although I really hate it. I eat the hell out of some fish. This is what I do and it works. I have been at this for more than 3 years and I don't plan on ever stopping. I love it. I would suggest you pick up an issue of Muscle Fitness, it is a nice starting point from anyone. I wouldn't say to subscribe because the issues get really redundant but you can try a routine for a month and learn from it. Anyway I'll shut up now.

wow...that's a lot of stuff that you do. a lot of it i can't do...i don't have a real gym at my house, and can only work with what i have here (dumb bells, Ab Lounge, a treadmill (sp?) and a bike). as for fish, can't cook for crap (man, the advantages with living with your parents). lol...keep giving advice. very good stuff. i might buy an issue or two of Muscle Fitness.

You can do almost everything you need to do with a pull up bar, push ups, and dumbells, I myself have a home gym but even without it you can manage. Probably want to invest in an adjustable bench to go with your dumbells and get yourself a pull up bar. you'll be set. and EAT. You don't have to cook the fish, you can eat tuna or grab some sushi.you'll be alright. as long as you get on track with something serious I think you'll see results and you will get more and more involved with it, diet and all. Everyone has to start somewhere.
