You might need a new battery. I was having issues with my steering, the radio, etc. I got a new battery two days ago and the radio, steering and other issues cleared up. It did take about 24 hours after the new battery was installed for the idle to be smooth. CTScott enlightened me that this is because the ECM has to relearn the fuel trims because the battery gets disconnected when a new one is installed. The place that installed my battery (Wal-Mart) put the air filter back in after the battery install but didn't snap the housing back together. I visited a Toyota dealer just to make certain that there wouldn't be some issue that would pop up down down the road that I should discuss with Wal-Mart now (the Wal-Mart Assistant Manager said they have insurance for just such things). The Service Writer at the Toyota dealership said no, I didn't have to worry...that the only potential issue that would be related to this is that the Check Engine light might be tripped (a false alarm) and need to be reset.
