Given that Apple makes most of its profits selling to Americans things made for cheap in China 9thus putting Americans out of work and employing Chinese) one wonders why there isnt an anti Apple movement.

Forcing people to buy new expensive cables to charge their phones is just another bad things they do.

f u apple.

I've never purchased a new Apple product. The old 4th gen iPod I had was good while it lasted, but jesus I hate itunes. Also it was finicky about which USB ports it would talk to the ipod over. I wish I had a way to interface my android directly with my car head unit, it's a million times easier to get music and whatnot on there rather than that old ipod. It quit working the day Steve Jobs died.

Actually, from what I have read on some more technical sites, the purpose of the chip is for dynamic readdressing of the pins, since the connector is reversible and an not symmetrical. There are already cheap aftermarket cables on the market.

I dont see how this is sooooo crazy. Its another quick profit for Apple. Look at Sony they do the same thing with all their unique proprietary cables

I ain't buying Samsung...... http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...82&postcount=1

I'm happy being an iSheep, I get to keep all the apps i've bought from my 3GS, 4, 4S onto my 5. The only thing that truly bothers me is no flash content on iPhone.

Also, another friend at work bought the Samsung Galaxy SIII and within 2 weeks it packed up and stopped working. He went through the same rigmarole to get it replaced.

Oh and as for HTC and other Android based devices, I ain't interested in them either.

I want flash content. But not enough to lower myself to purchase a Samsung product.
