I know what you mean. It's this whole throttle by wire thing. In comparison to the 97 Golf, or really any other car I've driven before, it's just twitchy. Much harder to vary throttle position in a fluid way. It's like punching in numbers as opposed to point and click. Not very relaxing. In other cars, you can let go of the gas and coast, in the Yaris, the whole damn car stops ;)

I've driven far more powerful cars with drive by wire and the designers did the opposite and made them super slow to respond, I'm betting for fuel economy.
