It's here!

I should have time to install it and my 1zz throttle body on Friday.

Also, a shot of the inside of the plenum. Those are some nice ramps leading into each runner!

By the way, what's all of this hardware that came with the manifold for? I imagine it's pretty easy to figure out once I have everything apart but I figured I'd ask.

NPT plugs are for the threaded holes in the bottom of the manifold
10" PCV hose is to replace the short factory hose from the head to the manifold (this will be easy to identify when installing, it routes to the middle spout on the manifold)
The two outer spouts will re-use the factory hoses.
The two bolts, spacers and washers are used to space the radiator hose bracket away from the first intake runner. Let us know if any of this is unclear.

We have some of the same days off - We should meet up and I'll help you install it! (PM me if that's something you want to do) :)

Mr Miles: I'll be working on it most of the day Friday at a friend's place, I'll PM you my number and if you're interested in coming out and taking a look or helping out, it shouldn't be an issue.

I have a question about the thermal gasket, do you install it directly against the head or does there need to be a o-ring gasket between the head and the thermal gasket? From the reading online it looks like I shouldn't need one but I thought I'd ask first.

^ No, the O-ring goes in the manifold groove (or O-rings on the new mani), the head surface is flat I believe.

Those really smooth velocity stacks are beautiful work.
Those grinding marks inside the runner throats are necessary. It's a real challenge welding thin aluminium tubing onto thick aluminium parts without getting at least some burn through. I had exactly the same issue. The ports clean up nice and easy with a grinder and there's plenty of material there so weld strength is not compromised.

There's three approaches, one is a smooth flush recesses like yours, another is smooth raised ramps...

and a third is where the stack protrudes into the plenum...

^ Thanks, that just about covers it. Some roughness on the intake side is acceptable, it's smoothness on the exhaust side that is important.

Ok cool. I figured I'd still need the Orings on the manifold, I was just wondering about between the thermal gasket and the head. It looks like people are just installing them flat against the head. Thanks!

Wow! That unit is sooooo much nicer than the Weapon R manifold. Quality pieces are well worth the wait.

Yes. That slight roughness is negligible and purely cosmetic. Mine needed grinding exactly the same way.

Looks great! Pretty sure you're the second automatic to run one and at least one other is running the Injen CAI, looking forward to your feedback after some more driving :)

I can't remeber, do you change over the electronics with the 1zz Throttle body or do you just plug and go faster?

Gooks super, sheck!

Have you driven it yet? And did you need to turn down the 1ZZ idle screw?

Drove to car wash and back but no freeway yet...due to rush hour...No I didn't adjust idle screw. I actually installed the throttle body about 6 months ago or so
