Hi, Just new to the forum and was wondering if someone could advise.... I recently snapped my exterior drivers side external door handle and got a garage to fix it....I had recently cleaned my car and under the divers seat i discover this part which i am presuming came from when the handle was fixed.. Anyone any idea what it is...Thanks

That doesn't look like anything I've seen inside of the doors. It looks more like a piece from the bottom of the seat.

That looks like the protector for the door lock cylinder.. Could be wrong.

Looks like it belongs in the door. The pads would go against the glass when the window is lowered. Sounds like you need to go back and ask them to put it together right.

Thanks again guys for the replies. I went to the garage today and the bloke said that there was another plate like this on the new lock that i supplied and as such this part should have been dumped... I aint so sure, and was going to have a look inside the door....can anyone post the description of how to open the door when all the trimmings etc are removed... I can strip the door panel, handle off easily but beyond that i struggle at the part of actually removing the lock...Thanks pS i have the Toyota manual but the instructions re removing the door nuts etc..are difficult, for me, to understand..
