I wondered that also....I don't tow my Yaris, but I do tow my '99 Rav4, all 4 wheels down. It has a digital odometer, and I need to have the ignition switch in ACC. to keep the steering from locking up. My guess is (havn't bothered to check, don't really care) the digital speedos don't work unless the engine is running?
