If you're using the stock Toyota belt the mark you made might be right.But if you use an after market belt. It's not the same size as the Factory spec belt and it might be one of those elastic type like DAYCO which stretches and have to be PRIED BAR to tighten.

The Goodyear Gatorbacks aren't bad, but I prefer Gates.

Went to the dealer an ordered the stocky Yari belt. No squeal Took the Dayco belt to the trash

Glad i saw this because I was thinking of buying a DAYCO brand . Guess Ill buy the GATES now............." IF it's good enough for CTSCOTT it's good enough for me" . I think the dayco belt would work ok in those cars with automatic spring loaded belt pulley tensioner.
