Car wash blew off car roof rubber strips... - Toyota Yaris Forums

Are those roof strips actually for weatherproofing or just for show? I don't want water to leak into the cabin or rust to form in the groove where the strip goes.

I'm gonna go have another look and see if I can somehow find a way to clamp it down into place real snug. I'm wondering why Toyota didn't use adhesive on these things in the first place?

They are just to cover over the seam area where the roof meets the side structure. It is welded and seam sealed, but ugly if uncovered.
