If you're not lowered, 205/40/17's look very, very tiny. Stick with OEM size 205/45/17 with stock suspension. As long as you're running proper offset, the lock-to-lock rubbing is not serious.

Im lowered 2 inches and the ride is too stiff. if I get larger sidewall tires will that help maybe like a 205/50/17

If you're lowered 2 inches, then 205/40's are probably the best fit... and a ride that's "too stiff" is the tradeoff.

Lowered by 2inch... You'll get slight rub with 205/45/17. if you insist for 205/50/17, you gonna tear off your fender inner shield when you rub harder.

If your problem is really being too stiff, my advise is to revert back to stock springs and go OEM 205/45/17. If you wanna to have BEST of comfort and some look to remove the tires gap, go for 205/50/17.
