Freaky deaky, I'm pretty happy, GF not so much..........
Talk about freaky. Just got off the phone with the GF, she is not pleased.
Besides pricing out new tires, I have been looking to buy a new pair of rubber floor mats for the front of the egg, I usually buy some generic brand black rubber things and very carefully trim them to size. Usually about $20 shipped off the bay. Going so far as to get them big enough to cover up the carpet that is over that big block protrusion from the LF wheel well to the left of the brake pedal. That area always seems to wear from my left foot. Well I hadn't mentioned I was looking at floor mats till just tonight and all of a sudden she got very ummmmmmm exercised. Turns out she had ordered a pair of WeatherTechs for me, and being the big (Amazing Kreskin) dope that I am, have now ruined Christmas and all things attendant to it. I suppose it's not to late to get coal................................... WeatherTechs are something I always wanted but could never bring myself to buy................................and to all a good night! |

I am infamous for never being able to provide people with gift ideas. Every year without fail, in the weeks leading up to Christmas, I will buy something for myself. Response is always the same;
'You always do this. You never give me any ideas, then you find something you want and buy it! That could have been a gifty.' Damn impulse shopping.

My wife always knows what to get me. I never have a clue about what to get her. I wish we could just skip Christmas for each other...

*UPDATE*
I wish I could change the topic to "Why WeatherTechs suck" Since I destroyed Christmas, my GF decided to reroute my WT's to me. Well let me tell you why WeatherTechs suck, they are too nice, they fit too perfectly, they look too damn good! I have now caught myself 3 times wiping them out with a damp rag. A friend got in my car the other day and I almost asked to see the bottoms of his shoes. I am now considering some kind of a thin mat on top of them. Buy them at your own peril. |

I hear ya...!I bit the bullet a few months ago and got a full set for the 2013 Coupe. They are awesome. I read somewhere about wear on them (most likely from harder driving & manual shifting...) although I am very easy on a car while operating it. I ended up buying a few of those old carpet samples at a flea market in a gray color to match the interior. I have one on the drivers side on top of the weathertech to keep it cleaner & help absorb the little water I may get in the car when it rains. Helps my piece of mind not to screw up the weathertechs & not worried about it getting stuck under the gas pedal as I am always conscious of it (the carpet mat) Works for me...reminds me I should sell the original oem floor mats on eBay, I'll never use them. |
