Yes....the way the ECM handles via the speed sensor and cluster is that once the speedometer returns that 118 has been reached then the ECM leans out your fuel drastically to "force" you to reduce speed. I found that it would drop me depending on the suspension setup (for example wheel/tire combo) I could lose between 8 on the high end and 4 on the low end of mph lost. I found this out over 20+ land speed runs which gave a great way to figure it out. Essentially riding off the speed limit cut is a bad thing.
