Yes, I know the physics behind some inattentive moron driving a gas guzzling monster running over my poor, fuel-efficient Yaris; which is why I have to pay even more attention to what's going on around me when I drive. It's called 'situational awareness' and we should all realize that in such a collision we'll come out on the losing end of the equation no matter who is responsible for the accident, so it's best to do anything and everything within our power to avoid such collisions from taking place.
Sprocket doesn't have ABS or traction control. Heck, it doesn't even have powered windows or locks! It is up to me to keep control of the vehicle and not depend on these technologies to save my ass, which in many cases leads to complacency while driving. I saw it today while driving to work during a rare icy morning here in southcentral Texas, idiots motoring down the highway like the roads are warm and dry and the number of wrecked cars I saw because of such stupidity was amazing. From 8:30pm last night to 2:00 pm this afternoon, the local police department handled 2,462 calls for service to include 173 major accidents, 414 minor accidents, and 218 traffic related calls!
Of course, I was driving the Jeep! I ain't taking my Yaris out in this shit!
Cheers! M2

Knowing what is going on here, hearing what is going on in your area 240 or so miles away isn't surprising.
