Starter Kill
I recently installed an AutoLoc keyless entry in my little Yaris with the help of DanQ's fantastic write-up and CTScott's details. Everything works perfectly, but there is another feature that is built into the system that I would like to put in that I have not figured out even after many many searches. There is a Starter Kill built in that uses a relay. The schematic shows to put the relay between the unit and the starter solenoid. I was thinking that I could use the starter wire in the ignition switch, but with two wires being used for this (called "common"), I am not sure which wire to use, or both wires, or maybe a different wire altogether? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The starter solenoid is the small violet wire that goes to the solenoid (the cylindrical bump on the starter). You can either intercept that wire or intercept the two black wires (that go to a single pin) on the ignition switch connector. The reason why there are two "common" wires is because it is acting as a switch, intercepting a wire, so the wire gets cut and on side goes to one common and the other side to the other common.

The starter solenoid is mounted to the starter. You will see the large wire going to the starter itself and then the smaller wire going to the solenoid.

Mean shot bro CTscott
I took the start button off. I don't seem to find any big wires on it. but i saw some wires. their is a violet wire, Yellow wire, 2x White/black wires etc. Did you know which wire is the starter wire? - so i can intercept with a relay to install a starter kill?
On the passenger side on the fuse box if i'm right.. i see 2x black wires. Which wire is the starter i can cut to install a relay intercept starter killer? Please tell me.. All i need now. |

The starter is on the front of the engine, just below the alternator.
