IMO, the taxpayers in California are bending over and getting reamed.....public employee unions being the first to feed at the trough. Even though a good CPA can have a positive effect re the impact of these taxes that, to me, is beside the point.....IMO, California taxpayers should demand a public sector that provides the value per dollar and flexibility that we have here in Texas.

No, I meant for me. I want to get out of mass, but finding a job anywhere right now is nearly impossible.

BTW, the government in FL wants rail, the people realize it is idiotic. Florida cities are gigantic and amazingly spread out. It took 45 minutes of 1-4 to go from one side of Orlando to the other. The trip from Tampa to Orlando takes 2 or 3 hours depending on traffic. The rail would have to be insanely high speed to even make it slightly worthwhile.

Good. A congressional seat in Pinellas County recently opened up when Rep. Young passed away. Even though Young (a Republican) had held the seat for 40 years, I heard a well known Democrat (Alex Sink) was expected to win, the Republican (David Jolly, a former Young staffer) whose marriage had ended and was dating a much younger woman (some eyebrows raised in this particular district), carved out a narrow victoryin the special election. I found this at least a bit encouraging.

I noticed this. I was staying in Kissimmee and decided to go to Mount Dora, stopping in Sanford on the way (I took I-4 to Sanford, and then a back road to Mount Dora, rather than taking 441...I returned via 441). I left after rush hour, and it took the 45 minutes you mention to get across Orlando. You could feel the tension in Sanford that day. I later learned that that was the day that Sooner and Uhrig quit as Zimmerman's attorneys.
