Just read the list. All of it it palatable with exception to #11. It is actually illegal in a lot of places to shut off your vehicle at red lights. Dangerous and stupid in my book, but hey, no reason it could piss other drivers off either right?

I also don't know why he picked 10 seconds. My information might be wrong, but I've heard from multiple sources that (on average) the engine needs to be off for over 30 seconds to overcome the cost ($ wise) of restarting the car.

I shouldn't have used the word 'particularly' in the OP, as it implied that I found all of the suggestions funny or possibly not valid (I didn't). I just found the presentations humorous re #13 and #18.

Re #13, I find it funny that he would take it to the extreme to change his clothes at work, and to change into shorts (I imagine) to mitigate sweating (my understanding is that A/C makes a 1 MPG difference). Re #18, I can't really explain it. I find post #18 funny for the same reason I find Why? 's posts funny. They seem to have similar senses of humor.

Because it is so far from what a normal person would ever think of doing. It takes thinking "out of the box," to ,"eating the box, regurgitating it, and making that mess into an octagon." Just so totally different from what anyone else would think.

But sedans do have better aerodynamics, however the length of the drives and whether highway mileage or not is probably what is making the bigger difference. My best highway mileage is 47, while I am around 40 driving with no sustained freeway type driving.

Yeah, but I also think it is that you never hesitate to point out stupidity and to point out the absurd.....and observations of such are made even more humorous by injecting a little undercurrent of enough anger just to make the point a bit more emphatically. I appreciate that in #18 on that list, and in some of your posts .
