Drivers Side Seat Belt Won't Retract
My driver side seat belt doesnt like to retract. I took to the dealer and they 'documented' it. Guess ill have to play their game and take back again with the proper bitchy attitude 'fix it or die'....
Anyone else had this issue? The front passenger belt works like a charm.

What dealer would want to play games with a key piece of safety equipment? If that belt doesn't work correctly in a crash, they're screwed.
I'd write a very clear (polite and not overtly threatening) letter to their service manger and copy Toyota Corporate. |

Yeah the service guy did that a few times. Immediately after i drove off the lot and parked, it didnt retract.
Funny, while I was waiting at the service line the teenage porter said 'cool car' and 'do you know Ran?' and said he had heard of this in a few Yaris already.

I'm having the same issue with my 08 3 door hatch. I'm about to take the panels off to lube it and see if the unit is just dirty. I'll report back if I fix the problem.

lubing it won't help. The recoil spring gets tired over time, so about the only thing you can do with it is to take the whole recoil assembly apart and pretension it a couple more turns.

I was able to access the rewind unit but came to that exact conclusion. I'm going to save that project for when I upgrade the rear speakers since I will have to remove those panels anyway. For now it's onto removing the fabric from the front doors and clean the adhesive off.
