According to the data on tire rack, a 175 is only intended to be mounted on 5-6" rims. You would be stretched a little bit--which is not ideal--but some people do it on purpose for aesthetics. If the tires still have lots of life on them, I'd keep them as a set of winters until they wear out and get a dedicated set of summer tires on the new ones. Be careful though, it's a slippery slope. I think I now have more sets of tires than my wife has shoes...=)
