That was the plan originally but my friend, whose shop I'm using to do the work, doesn't have the necessary tools to evacuate the system. So for the time being the compressor stays. Perhaps in the future I'll properly remove the system. More than anything I'd just like to have the extra space in the engine bay for working on the car should the oil pump or water pump ever need to be replaced in the future. Not exactly sure how much weight I'll shave by deleting the system but I know the 1whp I might gain isn't worth the investment in tools right now.

So no, the AC stays...for now.
