Help with ABS install.
My car died in traffic. I had some guy work on it. Long story short somehow he fried a window regulator motor and the ABS actuator. Dealer fixed the window and quoted $3000 for installing a new ABS actuator.
They are easily obtained on ebay. Is it something that can just be installed? Someone mentioned something about the dealer needing to program it? Any thoughts or help appreciated. |

Bleeding ABS modules and the entire system can be a pain. As can dealing with all the brake lines. I'm not sure the average backyarder would enjoy doing that job. I am not certain, but I think the module can be replaced without needing re-programming on the Yaris.
I'd guess a professional would be a good idea. Keep in mind that an independent shop can probably do the job for less, especially if you are OK with a used ABS module. |
