I get it too, but a little more spaced out, more like 2 seconds mmmm and 2 seconds pause, and it happens on several different highways when I'm driving about 55 and up. I figured I was hearing things in my head since there's no vibrations, just the hmmmmming noise. I think there are sounds that could be far worst and alarming than my Yaris humming the hundreds of miles on my road trips. Maybe it's purring ;)

Could be "beating" phenomena--happens when two pulse generators are just slightly out of phase. Like tread blocks hitting pavement on two almost identical front tires. I noted something like that w/ new-to-me 2007 on all seasons on factory steelies. Also loud road noise...had me doing the S-swerves test to check front wheel bearings. Put on 4-set of well worn but amazingly even winters on Mazda steelies and note how loud they are. (Without noting the beat.) Solution: turn off radio and enjoy listening to the very different sounds of different surface textures, gravel and sand coatings, rumble strips, water...
