The annual ImportAtlanta.com Habanero Pepper Eating Competition. All participants take one pepper each , start chewing at the same time, and hold it in their mouth for as long as possible. Last man standing wins.

Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9BTbXRTnps

Some pics from the event. Ignore the date, the guy taking the pics doesn't know how to set it. Also, I didn't take part in this contest.

Try some Dave's Ulimate Insanity Sauce! That stuff will knock you on your ass. Just dip a toothpick in and get a pin head sized drop. Put it on your tounge and prepare for pain!!!

I had one of those chili peppers before...

they used it in some dish I had at a chinese resturant. They said "dont eat these peppers, extremely hot!!!!"... cmon, how can you taunt me like that! Put something on my plate I cant eat (yes I routinely eat the garnishing).

It was HOT, not unbearably so, but it lasted for a good while and was no picnic.

I ruined a perfectly good can on chef boyardee with dave's insanity sauce! The guys at work keep a bottle in the fridge for unsuspecting victimms, as I reached for Frank's Redhot, the gave me that and said it was better, so I put in as much as I would put Franks's in. It sucked because I dont like really spicy food

habanero is pretty wicked stuff, my friend gave me a tin of Hot Ass Honey Roasted Peanuts and they had habanero in them, they were a sweet with a hot kick behind the sweet, I ate about half the can and had a sore on my tongue the next morning, I kept eating them though and now I want more

I almost had a close call with habaneros. I made a dish called "puerco pibil", which is featured in the movie Once Upon a Time in Mexico.

That dish requires 2-3 of those little fuckers.

I made the dish, got my grub on... had an eye itch and ALMOST went for it to scratch but caught myself just in time.

The tingling in the fingers goes away in a day or 2.

Damn, "puerco pibil" sounds good as fuck right about now!
