Can't wait to see how this turns out, but so far it looks like you're on your way to an awesome setup.
I've done a few little paint projects with a basic HVLP setup in the garage. Regarding fans, I would imagine that you're best to to set the fans to draw through the filters and blow directly out of the garage - filter catches the particulate and you get the vapours right outta there. The trick of getting the floor damp does seem to help keep dust from getting kicked up by either a fan or the air from the paint gun if you happen to blow past. That said, don't forget that if you're going to go through all the work of setting up a good paint environment that you'll need a decent quality filter / dryer on your air setup - the old beast of a compressor might leave oil in the air and I imagine your humidity is probably like ours (high, and miserable in the summer, lol) so there's a chance of water accumulation in the tank - both will impact your paint quality if they get pushed through the gun. Of course, goes without saying, airflow and filters or not, please get the proper organic vapour P100 cartridge half-mask. -- Adam |
