First sign of failure is usually the appearance of coolant being sprayed in a line on the underside of the hood. I'd just leave it be and look for signs of spraying everytime you have the hood open. While there have been a lot of failures, there are also plenty that have not experienced issues. No point throwing money at something out of paranoia.

it's not paranoia, it's just that i commute a long ways to and from work everyday and would hate to be stranded 65 miles away from home then it'll cost more money just to get it home. Okay y'all are the expert here i'll leave alone and keep an eye out for coolant leaks especially around the weep hole and let's see how many miles it'll make. As long as it starts leaking before a catastrophic failure i'm okay with that and then i'll know to replace it.
