Mine are 16 years old and subject to brine and salt 6 months of the year. These are 4 of the most robust bolts on the car. I removed mine 3 months ago to do bearing work and they cracked loose with a breaker bar with ease and the bolts themselves were in excellent shape. Your mechanic should have zero issues removing them giving he'll be far better equipped for the job than I am.
