Metal on aftermarket is not as good as OEM, but good for several more years of running. Just have the union between old and new clamped, not welded. Cheap enough that if it fails, replace again. Also, a welded joint on old pipe almost certainly guarantees that your next point of failure will be that weld.

I'm taking her Yaris in on Friday and will post back to you that afternoon. Hopefully the tiny crack can be welded, if not, then I will get that pipe

If there are other cracks in the system, I would think about this Magnaflow system for her along with new OE muffler. I can get it for around $700 shipped. Only issue I see, will this still pass NYS computer inspection without being CARB compliant?
