it's been made official now........

that fuel economy on my sedan w/auto is a whooping 45.6 mpg; i live in suburbia, so there is mostly "city driving", maybe 10% of hwy driving on my test tank; but i must admit i do not torment my car-----a good economy tip: instead of pushing on throttle on "drive" to rock the yaris to normal spped, just use gated auto shifter just like a manual shifter ( good thing is that there's no clutch, hehe)---- i personally shift from 2 to 3 @ 30 mph and from 3 to "drive" @ 45 mph ( you may want to do it @ 40 when there is a low speed limit posted ) all in all - i'm looking forward to hit the hwy in 3 weeks for a vacation trip ( from NE Ohio to S Florida) and see my mpg go to lower 50's.....

Good luck on your trip. So far my experience is I get the worst milage on trips (I drive too fast), and my best is locally at about 55 and below. Keep track and post....

I'm also going on a 1,000 mile trip Memorial weekend....maybe my car's more broken in now!

I have 17's,no problem at all reaching and surpassing 40mpg,you need synthetic and better intake in my opinion,to reach these marks.
