Doesn't the E-break only work on one side, or is it tied into both drums?

Back in the old days doing something like that would result in a brief puff of smoke and no more tension on the E-break handle.

Could you again list the name of this dealer so yarisworld members can avoid it? Thanks.
+1 What a shame..

Instead of trying to video taping customers cars videotape your own car(yaris) since this is a Yaris web page And you can safe yourself some trouble (if you crash someone else car)
I'll be waiting for that video

Steve, just a friendly heads-up... if I was a customer and discovered you were doing that in my car, I would beat you to a quivering bloody lump with a tire iron, and I'm damn near a pacifist. You might wanna' not do that anymore, before you get caught by someone with a much shorter fuse than myself.

Every time I did my 2 weeks active duty in the navy, every time we got into a rental van or car, it was our "duty" to give the hand brake a workout. We would always leave flat spots on the tires we did it so much. We were only doing about 20-30MPH though, but it was fun as hell! One time we had a 4WD Astro van in Fallon, NV and we beat the shit outta that things parking brake. We went from Fallon to Chico, CA to the Sierra Nevada Brewing company and had beer with the brewmaster. That was a blast!

Heh that reminds me of an article in a recent Top Gear magazine form the UK... 100 most fun cars to drive... Guess what was #1? "Any rental car"
Which is true, you can rent a car, as long as you don't wreck it, you can do whatever you want, and return it the next day with a big smile on your face

This is why the US Government will pay 10 million to replace an Astro panel van.

i've ebraked fairly hard at 100mph. nothing hollywood happens. you just slow down a bit. of course this was on an 8 year old car so the ebrake was likely not as tight as it could have been.
