Crashy just finished her 10th round of plowing. At this point the piles of snow off the sides of the driveway are getting huge. This one is almost up to her roof line:

Gonna come down to PA and help out your neighbors with the next storm? Our road wasn't plowed till well into the afternoon of the day after the last storm... It sucked! I actually had plans that day to go do things, but couldn't because we couldn't get anywhere past our driveway.

One of my neighbors noticed it when I was plowing last night and asked if that was where I bought my plow.

You should paint the rusted exposed spots with rustolium or something before it rusts too much

I do need to touch her up a bit. Most of the exterior rusted areas will be chopped off when I get around to doing the roll cage for her, but all of the interior non-treated metal is really rusty.

For the Push-Start button and associated hardware - what's the dollar amount of it so far? And will you guys come up with a wiring hook-up diagram for us n00bs to follow. I get pretty nervous when it comes to anything electrical. I know the video instructions sounded simple but I don't trust myself.

My interface module is going to be $50 + shipping. We've been doing some research on the switches to figure out if we can use the Toyota/Lexus ones that are available here. I have a Camry/Avalon one on the way (that I picked up from eBay) to see if it will snap into the Yaris' mounting hole. If the one used on the USDM vehicles fits, then they are readily available. New, they are $62 from TRDSparks.com.

The last piece to figure out is the trim piece. One option would be to do a group buy from Europe, where the LHD one is available. I have an extra one of the hole-less trim piece, that I am going to experiment with drilling with a forstner bit to see if it can be modified without looking like a bad hack.

Install is relatively easy. It looks like a lot of wires in the video, but that is because of all of the connections to the switch itself. There really are just two wires that we connect to on the car.

Can't wait. $50 plus shipping? I'm in Scott. Stupid question, for us manual owners, are we going to engage the clutch pedal while we push the start button or no?

I see it as a luxury benefit, but never encountered a 5-speed with a push/start button...so that's why I ask~

The starting procedure will be exactly the same as when you crank with the key, so if you need to push the clutch in now, you'll still need to.

It really is. It's one of those features that a lot people think is kind of cool on the JDM Yaris. Unfortunately, to make it complete and keyless would be a bit cost prohibitive.

yeah . its a cool idea but something i wouldnt do.. better projects to do :)

i just had to replace a friends ignition in his car. (his key broke off deep in the lock cylinder.. lol couple hours later with a lock wrench, flat head and hammer we got it out.. 100 later for the new lock and $2 for new keys (so we can bypass the chip) we keep the old key head on his key ring and the new key in the cylinder .. lol its ghetto but it works :) I saved him 900 bux dealership wanted to run him over the coals i guess.
