Crashy is sooo ready, that I don't think we will get any snow this year. I even installed a seat heater in her drivers seat. I was off most of Thanksgiving week and had some serious play time with my lift getting all three vehicles ready for winter. Crashy got new brake rotors (drilled and slotted), calipers, and pads and fluid (she had a bent caliper that was a bit annoying scraping wise, and her rotors were incredibly rusty-flakey thanks to spending so much time sitting in a swampy area before I bought her.
She also got an oil change with synthetic oil. She only had 3 miles on her existing oil, but it was a year old, so I figured with how much she plowed last year, she deserved fresh. I also drained, flushed, and replaced her coolant, since the prior owner had put some green fluid in her. Finally, I remounted her dash top to get back my coffee mug holder. I am looking into getting (or welding up) a flat bed car trailer so she can do some traveling. A friend of mine bought a place in Vermont that has about 100 acres of snowy fields that would make for some serious Crashy fun.

Sounds like you have been busy! I would like to see what Crashy can do in Vermont. Do take some video if you go.

Wow! Crashy is lookin' good! That's the car I needed on my commute to work this morning with over 15cm of snow! I almost got stuck twice! Grrrrrr
Is she an all wheel drive?? How'd you pull that off?? Did you change the tranny and drive train? |

She's still just a front wheel drive Yaris. With the way that I designed the plow frame for her, most of the force against the plow is converted to traction. The ATV tires make a world of difference as well.

Crashy and the Blizzard
From yesterday's storm, we ended up with 15" of snow and with drifts over 3'. Crashy once again did a great job of clearing my 7000+ sq ft driveway. I recently gave her a set of rally style lights (wired to the headlight feed, since her headlights were gone) and a driver's side seat heater. With the seat heater, the 30+ MPH winds blowing, while I was plowing, didn't bother me a bit.

Awesome on how a car that would be scrapped and recycled by now, has a new life and shows an extreme potential a Yaris can have.
