It's a stylish step backwards but not horrible.

like the 08 better....

I have an 08 LB "S" in polar white.....like the look of the 08 better. But remember, the "S" package (at least in 08) is not just cosmetic exterior. The interior is different, not just by appearance, the front seats are shaped different and IMO are more comfortable, you also get a tach. I love my "S" and don't regret my purchase for a second! A little extra coin is worth the "fluff" in my opinion. Seeing that some paid around 14k for their non "S" liftback, it literally was just a little extra coin for me!

09 LB "S" manual?

Did I read that right in an earlier post? Do they not offer an 09 LB "S" with a manual tranny? My 08 "S" is a manual.....

exactly my thoughts.

I Don't care too much for the bottom of the front bumper on the 09 but I'm glad it doesn't have the 08 back bumper. Overall, I like my 09.

Frownonfun - I wanted that color too.

My '09 "S" LB is a MT - don't know where that info came from. And the interior is a nice upgrade also - tach, leather-wrapped wheel and shift knob and different fabric.

Whether you like the exterior or not, the interior is a huge improvement over the base model (especially the seats). Most people seem to have a problem with the front bumper since it's way different; I like the look. It looks better to me in person than it does in pictures. But I think it's hard to argue that the sides, rear bumper, and spoiler of the new S aren't better than the previous version. I also have a manual; I don't know how the automatic only rumor started.

The S looks like an after thought, lets take a old style and modernize it! It does not work. It looks like part VW GTi and part snow plow, its too disjointed in its appearance. Over time it does look better, but I still prefer clean lines of the base or old style Yaris.

If you look at the second front view it makes me think that Pacman has eaten the lower portions of the bumper LOL.
