Rather than you be invovled in a crash because you could not stop your vehicle due to brake failure i'd rather you have your brakes looked at. It would be a heavy burden to wear if you killed or injured someone and also your insurance policy probably states in it somewhere (assuming you have insurance, no offense intended) that you must keep your car roadworthy to be covered by the policy.
He said "why check them ASAP?" Because he plans on changing the pads this week. Same reason that you wouldn't check your oil level when you're about to go for an oil change anyway.

Also, it isn't like he hasn't checked once in 400K. In past threads, he has made it clear that they were checked periodically and it was determined that the pads had very little wear since it was 98% highway miles requiring no brakes.

So Trini... when are you going to post up a video?

Also, do you have exterior shots following the paint job you just got?

MAD DOG,

I believe he means Manual Transmission Fluid.

Thanks. Still worried he has not had his brake fluid level checked and or bled in over 400,00mi.

It's 4:20am where I am and I can't be bothered going out to my car to get my service manual, but I’m pretty sure you need to have your fluids (other than just engine oil) changed at regular ("standard") intervals.

I'm with Mad Dog, even if your pads are still good, 3 year old brake fluid isn't.

I think every other fluid in the car other than the engine oil should be good for at least 5 years regardless of mileage. At that point, I'd at least change the coolant.

But he wants to go to a million miles. For that reason he should change all the fluids. Even with 400K, it's not at all a "beater".

You're right DerFlosser!!! If it hasn't broken as yet, why try and fix it!

LOL.....I'm j/k Mad Dog. I understand where you're coming from with the whole preventive maintenance thing. I will attend to my fluids in the very near future though.
