I sold OEM tires after 3K miles (I didn't like them, too much hidroplaning and skinny for harder cornering and stability at high way speeds) sorry I'm use to high performance tires.

It was the start of winter so I got one of the best sport winter tires I ever own, they where much quieter that the OEM tires and performance was so good (SP Winter Sport M3 205/50/15) with 25K miles and just like new

Then for summer I got General Tire GT Exclaim UHP 195/50/16 (Awesome tire, a little bit noisier than the Dunlop Though. with 5K miles and I'm sold. My car has a total of 33K miles

.

I've been working on a extensive deadening project, I know tires and road make noise but if you block that nose you get a better ride

Tomato, whats the deal with that, does it get cold at night in the summer?
How cold does it get?

L.A. was too hot for me in the summer. The sun in California burns the hell out of me.

I dont think im gonna do sound insulation, dont want to bother with it.

Besides for highway driving, the yaris is a great car.

Can some of you give like small reviews of how you think your yaris drives in general and compared to other cars.

It's always foggy for me when I leave in the morning and I have to use my wiper blades for the sprinkles. The streets were soaked earlier in the day.

I should mention that the entire bay area doesn't get foggy, mainly SF, Daly City, Pacifica, and some other neighboring cities. I always get sun when I head out to the east bay or the south bay while SF is 20-30 degrees cooler with fog. Some districts in the city get more fog than others.

I agree about the stock tires - mine just turned about 12,000KMs old and are now very quiet - and that's even at about 100-120 KMs/H on the freeway. When they were brand new they were quite noisy.

I believe you!

But... I have never experience that with tires as they get older.

Reading tire reviews they claim that as they worn out they got noisier.

I'm sorry doesn't makes sense for me, is it possible that you are getting used to noise levels?

i love the yaris. I will say coming from something like a BMW pretty much every car will be noisier. Maybe it is because I am always listening to music that the noise doesn't bother me.

Or maybe it is because I've removed everything behind the drivers seat so I here all the road noise, and I kinda like it.

Because of that my car handles kinda neutral, with some oversteer when I push it. Not enough for me, but I am sure when I can get a suspension and the like it will be much better.

You can get cars that are faster, quieter, bigger, smaller, and more options. For the money the Yaris is one of the best values out there.
