So, the sun glare testing has been interesting. Yesterday, I was out with it from 9:30AM to 11:30AM, and couldn't get it to a point where the glare was bad enough to make it unreadable.

Today, I was out with it from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. During that time the sun was almost dead overhead. With the sun shining directly vertical down through the windshield, the glare was bad enough to make it very difficult to see. It didn't get washed out, like the transflective LCD, but without shading it with my had, it was quite difficult to see. At that same time though, the fuel gauge was nearly unreadable and even the speedometer was hard to see.

So this test was done with the improved LCD or OLED?

Sounds like it's a go if you ask me.

I've been experimenting a bit more with the capabilities of this display. Since it is full color with graphics capability I decided to add a bar graph to the RPM display. Here's the result (with orange text to match my 09's cluster):

YarGauge - RPM Bar.jpg

And here's a video of it in action with feeding it random values between 0 and 8000 RPM to see how it could handle bouncing around. The bar is green up to 4000, yellow up to 6000, and red above that. I just arbitrarily set those thresholds.

Looks great CTScott. When I saw the pic, I was surprised you were rev'ing at 7747RPM... bench testing is definitely better. lol

The bar graph is great being displayed with the other features. I wanted this mainly for the tach feature and I was happy enough with a few dots/lines or just a numeric value, but this is far beyond. Can't wait for this!!

How about a pic with some differnt values such as coolant temp or volts?

Many of us either has a stock tach or, haa added a great after rmaket one
and wont be using the tach function.

It's looking great though.

Oh man it would be incredible if we could somehow make this gauge do instant feedback in a way like the Honda Insight's spedometer.

Somehow I doubt it is a simple task though.

I still have quite a bit of programing to do to convert each mode's output from the prior LCD display to this OLED. Once I make some progress, I'll post up some more pics/videos.

It depends on how long it takes me to get everything converted over to the new display, and to cut a new PCB.
