I'm so excited about this project...this is the reason I've put off getting an Ecometer or Scangauge!

and with proper intuitive escape detection [esc] routine, it can be fast too.

True, true, but it would be hard to use by the average consumer Which of course does not apply here, the brilliant Yaris owner community

no it won't be hard

you need proper documentation.

not one giant folded map-sized sheet from japan with 187 if/then statements
and pictograms.

At the moment to keep the user interface simple, it is just short press and long press. A short press on any screen brings you to the next screen. A long press on any screen other than the DTC ones brings you into clock set mode. In the DTC screens a long press brings you to the dialog for clearing the DTCs.

For configuration of colors, displayed/hidden screen choices, etc., I plan on implementing them through the optional USB PC interface.

Now all you need to do is make it work with a fuel management system and have it display read outs for it.

SWEET!!!

CT, good luck and I believe this is going to make you immortal around here, for sure:D

I just bought a Scangauge from Garm, since I couldn't wait.
Now, when this one comes out, I can always either sell the Scangauge or
keep it as a reference/useage for my friends.

I was hoping long press wasn't already taken.

I didn't know there would be a PC interface as well... Very interesting.

If you could add optional programmability on the PC interface so that the long press could be used for other stuff, then I think it would be kinda nice. Even an optional double-click function would be desirable I think.

Still, I know it's going to be an excellent product no matter which way you end up going.

That video is proof that this is worth the wait, imo.

I know I am most interested in using this as a tach and most of the other features are info-porn for me. So i would like to have the RPM bargraph always showing and have the other text displays rotate every couple of seconds.

Scott, would it be helpful to have a feature priority poll on here so you know where to spend your time?

Also, I wouldn't hesitate to drop anything less than $200 on this, so if the USB option doesn't delay release too much or increase the price above that, i'm all for it.

I like that idea as well. Other than RPM and MPG, the bar graph really isn't that useful, so it makes sense to have the RPM bar graph be displayed on all screens except MPG.

Personally, I will find WT, V, and MPG the most usefull as I suspect most who already have a tach will also.

Damn.

This thing is going to let me skimp on some gauges once I get boosted!

So, in essence, you are saving me time and money if this thing really is less than $100!!!
