Sure is...

Chris should get the tester any day now, and when he confirms it fits, and fits well, I'll join as a vendor so I can get a group buy going.

Thanks,

Joel

Darn snail mail.

It didn't help that it sat on my desk for a couple weeks either I guess.

I'm pretty certain we got all the kinks out and it should slide right on there. You'll notice there are some little proto defects again, Chris. I went to a smaller endmill where the tab is machined and it vibrated on that part. No such thing will happen with the tweaked speeds and feeds for the production models. The radius tool also went a little deep and left a tiny step around the part. When we run lots we usually scrap the first one because we expect little setbacks like these until we get the offsets all tweaked out.

I can't thank you enough for your help Chris, and the idea!! I'm sorry this process has taken so long and that I wasn't more on top of communicating with you.

Looking foward to getting it after all this time. As of today though, still nothing.

I will be posting the installed piece no sooner it gets here though!

Hopefully once it's tried and tested, my perfect no blem colored one will ship.

I am going to bump this thread for the people who have not seen this yet. I am still down for the dark cherry smooth piece that says Yaris across it.

Hmm since Yoda is the name of my car. Do you think I should engrave that on the hold down instead?

I will contact the forum admins later today and as soon as I'm legit we will start the group buy

:)

Thanks Chris! I will take your notes on minor adjustments into account for the production run so they will be spot on perfect.

(Don't be alarmed by the adjustments, just a little depth tweak for the nut on the one end and a slightly larger notch for the fill caps in case the batteries molded plastic vary a wee bit...)

Paypal froze my account because some hackers tried to get in to it, and lucky for me they failed... It's back and safe again so:

I have paid for 1 month as a vendor, and my account will be active within the next 24 hours. If need be I will renew my account so I can offer these next month as well, provided there is still enthusiasm. I will post a link to the group buy when I can, and we'll get these on the roll. I will order enough material for a dozen now, and if we exceed that I'll order more. The first dozen will likely ship faster, if that's any incentive

Hopefully no one deletes this thread because I have paid the vendor fee... if they do hopefully they can restore it when I'm "active." Anyways, the pricing will be as follows:

Price per part: $68
12 parts (Group buy price): $64
24 parts (Group buy price): $58

This includes anodizing and shipping via airmail. Custom engraving is free, but please keep it simple. If you wanted a detailed Yaris engraved on your clamp or your avatar as examples, there may be a graphic design fee of $15. This is what I am charged to convert jpeg's etc. to CAD/CAM geometry. There are free softwares that do this, but I've never had any luck with downloading them. If any members of this board are good with illustrator or any softwares that can export dxf or dwg files and wish to help your fellow members out I think that would be awesome. If you send me a dxf or dwg the sky is the limit and it's absolutely free. I don't mind giving away the machine time for CNC engraving on every part as custom is cool and personal, it's the time spent drawing up usable geometry that hampers getting you all your parts.

Thanks Yaris owners! Be sure to give a Chris a pat on the back as well, this was his idea and he made it happen.
