Google+
Anyone on G+? I have some of you guys - but I am no longer on FB because it's like straight stalker status; so I still have an account but only my direct family and a select few others are on there.
So, who has G+? I miss talking to you guys lol |

I find G+ too much. And FB is getting that way. At least on FB, I can ignore the sidebar perma-ticker of everyone's crap. On G+, it is impossible to filter the nise - it just comes at you. If I had all day to sit there, it would be great, but I fortunately have a life, too.

G+ has a lot of interesting, knowledgeable people to follow and interact with. FB is more of a family and friends, fun place... As more and more people join G+, this may well change, but for the moment yes, its quite a bit more "dry"

I thought I was going to drop FB when G+ came out because it looks cleaner, more organized, and I find more like-minded people on G+. But I decided to keep my FB account open because 1) I'm curious and I wanna know what they're gonna do to the platform and 2) I like Facebook for certain things.
I don't think the 2 networks are redundant if you use them for different things. Right now G+ doesn't have brands so I follow a lot of the tech blogs on FB but on G+ I follow people instead. It's a different angle. I like that G+ doesn't have brands yet. Too much of a good thing, you know ;) |

To make your G+ interesting you have to follow people like celebrities, or people who work at companies that interest you. You can then interact with these people when they post. Then, you make friends with people in the threads because they share similar interests or they like your comments. So for example, follow Ashton Kutcher or Lady Gaga or someone you like from Popular Mechanics or Car Talk, or Eminem whoever you want (if they are on G+). It's kind of cool when you see people like that interact with their audience (and they do!!!).
You can also sort by topics (photography for example) and find a whole lot of people to interact with and create circles based on similar interest. so you might try "Yaris" and see what goes on . 2 things to keep in mind: keep it clean (Google has a policy about NSFW stuff, it's just not something they tolerate) and log in with your real name (or something that looks like it's your real name, or at least make an effort) so they don't disable your account. So far, I'm with the group: It's slow going on G+. I'm there, but don't do anything with it.

Well, Google is making some changes. They've allowed brands in now, so you can follow your brands, and they're allowing "pages" in as well. Pretty soon, we'll probably have full support for pseudonyms... It's looking a little bit more busy, and they put in some games (angry birds, etc) so it's getting more lively in there.
