This actually has no purpose at all. Its based on a tradition rather than for some reason of easier strokes to the next number, yadda yadda. Early registers were built with the number 0 at the bottom so it just kind of became a tradition.

I was thinking that beyond the edge of our expanding universe would be whatever came before the big bang,pre time and space,could our minds even understand the concept of what we would be looking at?
