I figure there has to be a way to do it w/o going to the dealer. If they can do it without gutting your car and cutting a wire, we need a DIY for how to do it the easy way.

Puttin on the seatbelt is an automatic reaction for me, I do it almost unconsciously, no need for a reminder... But since I'm now using a harness, the original seatbelt is unused, but the light keeps blinking on the cluster

Hmmmm gotta try that I guess, is it possible to dismantle that without taking out or cutting the whole belt, though?

on a side note, the seats in this car are a piece of cake to get out, 4 bolts all the same size, dont remember size off hand.

The easiest method I have found is to trace the seat belt tab onto a piece of plastic and then cut the plastic into the shape of the tab with a utility knife, leaving enough plastic above the tab to grip easily. There is no chime as long as something roughly the same shape is fastened into the buckle. The plastic I used was just from a plastic container. The only drawback of this method is that the plastic tab could get lost if there is someone in the front of the car that wants to wear a seatbelt.
The dealer said there is a relay that can be pulled out but they could not show me where it is due to liability and regulatory reasons. |

Make sure it does not affect the seat-belt/airbag system. They are electronically linked together ;)

Disabling a seatbelt would be disabling a safety feature. This is disabling an annoyance as a seatbelt is not required when I'm backing down my driveway or sitting in my car in neutral with the e-brake on...
