Climate control bulb
Hi, Do you know how to take apart the climate control knob and replace the bulb? I not sure which clip to remove and the Toyota service manual appears to be no help. I was thinking of purchasing the entire A/C panel assembly with the bulbs to make this easier but I am not sure. I have 2 bulbs out on my A/C panel upper right (outer ring) and the lower knob (outer ring). Pictures are attached. Thanks! I have the Sedan with 105K miles.

The bulb is mounted to the rear of the knob. You will see a small round area with a flat indentation in the middle. You simply turn it a quarter of a turn with a flat blade screwdriver to release it.

My bulb appears to be out on my climate control knob (the temperature knob with the blue/red zones), too. The other two knobs light up perfectly, and everything is working fine, so I don't think it's a fuse. Is the correct replacement bulb part number 9001001113? I have a 2009 Yaris. Thanks!

The recessed area in the center is where the bulb is located. 1/4 turn with a flat head screwdriver releases it. Bulb Installed.jpg And, this is what the bulb assembly looks like when removed: Bulb Removed.jpg

CTScott, thank you. I suppose it's not accessible by simply pulling the knob off...??? I bet the entire panel must come off...!!!

Correct. The bulb is on the rear and to access it you must remove the entire control panel. That requires removing the vertical pieces along side of the radio (by simply getting your fingers behind and pulling), removing the radio trim (again just pulling), and then pulling the AC control panel off.

Last question. No screws to remove first? Just start by pulling panels? Thank you.

Thanks all for your help. For the sedan, I had to remove the 4 black screws around the radio to get access to the AC control panel. Thanks for the pics of where the bulb is located. For the climate control knob, it is not obvious which clips to separate to get access to the bulb. Any ideas? This may help:

Yes - The sedan with the integrated radio does require removing screws to get the radio face (or in that case the entire radio) loose.
For the knobs, you just need to release the cable assembly from the back of the knob. You really don't need to remove the entire knob from the panel. People often break the little mounting tabs when doing so, as there are four tabs on the knob assembly that click into four slots on the panel, and the panel is very brittle, so it is easy to break the slots.

The green is just a sleeve on the bulb. I am not sure if you can find the bulb with other color sleeves, but you may be able to find replacement LED bulbs of that same mounting.
