Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
I was actually trying to preview the same idea of red panels in photoshop, guess I won't need to now What kind of paint did you use? It looks friggin' awesome, the only blemish now is that the stock gray of the upholstery looks quite crap... unless it's just the flash of your camera enhancing it... Got any daylight pictures? |

Just took these tonight, so have to wait till morning. If it's not snowing !!
But it's just the lighting cause it looks friggin awsome. Even my wife and daughter like it. The paint is made by Duplicolor ( Got it at Wal Mart ) Comes in many colors red,yellow,blue,green.........you know. Biggest and most important thing is PREP. Wash pieces with soapy water , dry , then wipe down with a quick flash thinner like xylene. Careful it can eat the plastic !!! I have an "05 Jeep Rubicon I did the same thing with and took a best of show award with it. Everyone thinks it's all custom bought pieces but ...it's just time and patience. I used 4 cans@ $9 a piece. But like I said before .....Four days total for all. Last edited by DARKYARIS; 10-16-2006 at 02:43 AM. |

Everthing was already black. I wanted a little contrast to break it all up.
Here are some outdoor pics............ Last edited by DARKYARIS; 10-16-2006 at 02:06 PM. Reason: update |

any close up pics of the doors? did you sand them down to get rid of the ripples before painting?

well, that is the old one, acer just released a new version with a dual-core chip, built in webcam, etc...
Overall I love it It looks great, it's not so heavy, it's more than fast enough for everything even some gaming, battery life is surprisingly good (close to two hours watching a DVD, just what I need). And the price was not too gouging (compared to the asus lamborghini ones, close to double the price and not thaaat much better) The screen is very nice and high-res (1680x1050), but the viewing angle could be better, though. And I had to take it for servicing one time for a couple of days, motherboard died and needed to be replaced. Apart from that, no complaints |

No sanding, still the textured finish. Just take your time on the prep, clean, clean, clean. Hot soapy water, then wipe with thinner before painting. Pretty easy, just do it right the first. Learned that one from experience.

amazing...the cleanest interior mods i've seen in a yaris yet. i love how it's not too over the top, but definitely eye-catching. the contrast in colors is great. awesome job!
--B ps: why no NAV system?? after getting ours, i will seriously have a NAV unit in every other car we purchase/drive. we are eclipse fans (like the interface), but pioneer nav systems are visually great...

As far as the Nav system.......this is my commuter, so I pretty much know where I'm goin and coming from.
Now in my Jeep Rubicon....Garmin 276C. I like to do a lot of off roading, 4X4, and hunting. So it's nice to be able to download TOPOs into your unit then do your route and transpose them back into your PC and get combined maps which you can print, store or whatever |

Garmin you say.... I was looking for a similar type unit for my Blazer (used to make/find a ton of trails in the catskills that would have been nice to map). I'm gonna have to look into that one, as for the yaris I have a TomTom G0910.
Edit: Back on thread topic; the install looks great. I'd rate it an 8/8.5 (outta 10). The only the reason why i wouldnt rate it a 9.5/10 is because I'd prefer to have the center match the dash... hell-of-a job !!
