Question about the Century Interior and exterior protection
Hi everybody this is my first post. I bought my Yaris Sedan Base in September and was wondering if anybody paid for the required Century interior and exterior protection that covers the paint and the interior apolstry. It was 500 dollars each and every Toyota dealer adds it on to the price automatically. I only paid 500 for both but I thought this was kinda crazy. Anybody else notice this.

I have no idea what you’re talking about…
But welcome to YarisWorld either way |

the idea behind it (if it was the same stuff offered by my dealer) is that you'll never have to wax your exterior or "Wash" your interior (as it will "never" stain) and both will retain their factory finishes... but that (just described) required you to go back to the dealer once a year and get the interior re-protected.

I know it wasn't required, but I was just seeing if this was an extra thing at all Toyota dealerships. I guess it is just in Colorado Springs or something.
Basically it covers if the paint fades or chips, they will fix the paint or fix the interior. I told them I would not pay for it and they took 500 off, but I guess that just comes with experience since this was my first time buying a car. |

yah, the prob with the yaris (well depend on your area) is that the dealers are having a "hard time" keeping them on the lot... so there isn't much bargaining room for the buyer, where as if the dealer couldn't sell a yaris, then you'd have alot more room to play with the price.

"never" wash or wax a car again, for only $500? Sounds like the deal of the century... Even though they would fix any defects, that's probably whatever happens from the quality of the pain and interior, they probably would not touch your car if you caused any kind of scratch anywhere...

I have the coating on my car, I'd equate it to a well done wax... we'll see how long it lasts.

WELL down here in sc, fl, ga, nc pretty much all the toyota dealerships are actually headed under one organization. Consequently just about every single car has that special toyoguard option added on, along with some extra stuff. all you have to do is say "i refuse to pay for that shit, i have read about them, and they are useless" (there are a number of articles out there that have set out to prove this... and have done so fairly well) and they will take it off:) .

heh, count the $159 floormats in that department too! if u actually want the Toyoguard make sure u don't pay over invoice for it. Toyoguard is only $159 at invoice, $619 at MSRP. 8-O aside from the VIN etching, everything else can pretty much be bought in a 3M can. :\

Alright I fiound out for sure. It is just a regional thing since I live in Colorado they have it on there before they get to the dealer because Colorado snows a lot and with the protection it protects salt and other harmful materials. In other states it is not needed. It's an evironmental thing.
