Toyota's Golden Trump Card (Exciting Yaris Variants!)
Okay y'all. You know the drill. Toyota apparently retooled the robots for the 2012 Camry production line, so they could call the 2012 Camry "all new".
Why doesn't Toyota retool the robots for the 2012 Yaris sedan production line to bring us a 2014 Yaris sedan AND coupe? Now what about the 2014 Yaris sedan? Some of us LOVE the idea of having a trunk, but don't want to be caught dead in a Corolla. So here is my rendering of the 2014 Yaris LE Sedan (with parts retooled from the 2012 Yaris HB) and a 2014 Yaris SE Coupe for those who want a 2-door Yaris, but hate the hatchback design (kinda like a first generation Toyota ECHO 2-door). What do you think? I think I am on to something here. Last edited by yarisse54; 12-26-2012 at 12:40 AM. |

I took a look at your rendering and thought it looked pretty good. There's a lot of people out there that just don't understand two door cars, but I've always liked the look whether or not it be on a hatch or coupe. I just got an 2008 HB this year so I won't be making any changes soon, but its interesting seeing the progression of the Yaris.

Thank you for your post Jabro. Might I interest you in attending the Toyota launch of this 2014 Yaris Sedan and Coupe (J/K)?
Coupes are actually quite elegant when the designers take the time to incorporate a long enough overhang in the rear of the car. The 2012 Yaris HB is very stubby in the back, but it incorporates some nice detailing from the Lexus CT200h. For example, check out the blue-flecked seats of the Yaris SE, which are reminiscent of the Lexus CT200H F-Sport blue NuLuxe interior. This kind of trickle-down design could be incorporated into the Yaris SE Coupe with great success! Okay, everyone heard this idea here first! Toyota designers BEWARE! |

Jabro, how do I post a picture without it showing up as a link for downloading? It would be nice for the picture to show up without every member having to download the picture.
NVM. Just figured it out! :P Last edited by yarisse54; 12-25-2012 at 06:48 PM. |

2014 Yaris Sedan and Coupe Front
We can all have a little bit of fun when it comes to seeing what direction Toyota takes during our lifetime! '
This is my rendering of the 2014 Yaris Sedan and Coupe in LE trim: Some critics might want Toyota to let down their hair and go a little bit wild with their designs. IMO, Toyota cannot abandon their heritage of reliability and sensibility. However, Toyota is not immune to economic downturns, which might force them to reuse engines and EVEN manufacturing robots (aka. 2012 Camry) for several generations of the same model. This 2014 Yaris is a fearless prediction of how Toyota can reuse the new 2012 Yaris parts to renew life into the Yaris Sedan (and possibly a Coupe if Akio has got the gut/sake!). |

Toyota's Golden Trump Card (Exciting Yaris Variants!)
-Needless to say, Toyota invented a lot of vehicle segments, such as the "crossover utility vehicle" (eg. RAV4 and Matrix)...
...But what about the subcompact Coupe segment? Toyota needs to seriously consider reviving the subcompact Coupe segment, and I have just the car they need to bring in TONS of new, young, and practical minded (albeit often broke ) buyers! |

2014 Yaris Sedan and Coupe Different Angle
Yaris HB's are practical and neat, but my 2012 Yaris SE does make me sacrifice rear-seat passenger room when I need to carry suitcases in the cargo area.
A Coupe however has the elongated trunk-space of the sedan, but it also retains the sub-compact dimensions that people love about the Yaris. This is my rendering of the 2014 Yaris Sedan and Coupe in LE trim: This 2014 Yaris is a fearless prediction of how Toyota can reuse the new 2012 Yaris parts to renew life into the Yaris Sedan (and possibly a Coupe if Akio has got the gut/sake!). |

One day, we will have elegant and affordable subcompact sedans and coupes from Toyota!

2014 Yaris Sedan and Coupe? Let's GO!
This is my rendering of the 2014 Yaris Sedan and Coupe from another perspective!
No doubt that a "Coupe" sounds a lot better than a "hatchback" in some situations. However, I think a majority of Yaris owners would probably gravitate towards the Sedan because it offers the practicality of 4-doors, and its a car that can grow old with you during the different stages of your life (rebellious > reserved > romantic > married > responsible > retired > empty-nester). Now if we could only get Toyota to REALLY notice Yaris World, that would be SO cool! What do you say guys? Invite your friends and buddies to this forum and let's make this the BEST forum hands-down. Oh, and don't forget to comment on what you want to see for your next Yaris! |

2014 Yaris 2-door Coupe? Decisions, decisions...
Quote:
For example, some Mercedes C-Class buyers feel that their C-Class Coupe (with 2 fewer doors) is somehow more special than the entry level C-Class (with 2 extra doors!?!). I guess the term "2-door coupe" often brings up memories of sports cars and racing cars? |

2014 Yaris Sedan and Coupe
Sorry to add a little bit more wishful thinking to everyone's Christmas wishlist.
We all want to see a 2014 Yaris Sedan. But what about a Coupe? What about the things that you've always wanted the Yaris to be (sportier, more crisp styling, more affordable, and the famous reliability to top it all off?). Try this on for size: This is my rendering of the 2014 Yaris Sedan... AND SURPRISE! There's a Coupe variant to satisfy the Yaris World members who would love to see a more upscale and classier Yaris without moving up to the Corolla. Any takers? And would you be okay with Toyota using the same engines, chassis and manufacturing robots if it meant having a lower starting price of around $11,990? Think about the 2008 Jetta City, and how it was a recycled (albeit restyled) car. |
