What mileage you getting with temps under 30 degrees ?
we just did a fill of 7.74 gallons and traveled 250.2 miles ( 3 bars left ) and the average was 32.32 m.p.g. for the '08 automatic sedan with 4 studded tires . The average temp has been around 20 . This includes couple days of snowy / slushy roads , very windy days , and some city driving . I believe the 5 speed manual Liftback is going t to get the same as the auto sedan or 33.62 miles to the gallon . Should be filling it sometime this weekend to see if prediction is correct .

tonight's drive home was 7*F and had a 10 MPH head/crosswind I only got 38.4 MPG according to the SGII (I've gotten upwards of 50 MPG on the same segment with calm winds and 70*)

Since I install an engine grille block each winter I do not notice any more mileage hits on the coldest days versus the average days. I still feel the overall hit of winter fuel and slower trips over the mountain due to snow and ice, though.
I generally go from averaging 47 MPG in the summer to 44 in the winter.

The water temp is still staying in the 184-188 range, but it seems at any given RPM I'm sucking more gas, the only difference I can attribute this to is the intake air temp anyone else have any thoughts???

32 mpg; worse than usual (36). There's something wrong with 50MPGDream's odometer.

today I drove around 200 miles, (not much for evaluating MPG, but it gives me an idea)
I got 29 MPG vs the constant 40-45 I got in the summer, it was between -1 and +5 degrees Fahrenheit. |

2 of the last 3 posts sound more realistic , the '06 XB we had would get as low as 29 m.p.g. in frigid temps . The '07 PRIUS would drop to 38 m.p.g. in extreme temps . Find it hard to believe 38 + miles to the gallon in a YARIS in these conditions .

Believe it. Could be the way people drive and not just the car and the weather. It's been getting down in the teens, so it's cold here, and soon to get colder...and gets near 100 in the summer. Those are my mpg figures and they don't vary 1/2 mpg or so from what I stated.

If it weren't so cold out that it would freeze my digits off to try it, I'd put more air in my tires; I'm sure mine are way too low, and that would improve my mileage. Oh for the days when garage people would do this for you...

Yeah, back in the good old days when gas stations sold tires and batteries instead of bread and eggs.

I remember.....they used to wash your windshield and check your oil while car was fueling. Could always get a flat tire fixed fast and local mechanic did not have all sorts of electronics to deal with.

i'm getting 43-44 mpg just driving the stock manual in the winter, can't wait for spring summer and my consistant 49.9XXmpg tanks. I'll break 50 if i ever get a week without traffic going to work or can get a tankfull that doesn't have 10% ethanol.
