Did you remedy this problem yet? If not...

go rent yourself a rug doctor and use the attachment to steam clean n suck the dirt out of the area where your cat peed.

People who hate cats and are cruel to them will be cruel to people too. It's nothing to be proud of. It's a shame.

My wife saw three adorable little blue eyed Persian kittens yesterday. She'd've brought them home if we weren't about to go on vacation. They're being fed, though.

I got the Auto Vaccine today, or as I refer to it as "the Bleach Bomb". I will try it out this weekend and tell you the verdict. By the way I have a red tabby with no tail (natural) and have had both cats and dogs for many years. Sometimes as many as five. So I agree that people who are cruel to cats are cruel people, and usually do cruel things to people too.

I don't hate cats but I get along much better with dogs for some reason. They dig me, and I dig them. Woof. Every time I walk dwn the street and pass the coffee shop in my neighborhood, where people hang out with their dogs every week-end, it just makes my day.

I'm with Yaris Hilton. Generally, I don't trust / respect people who don't respect animals.

To the OP; how is the smell coming along? Is it fading any yet?

Well, I tried the Auto Vaccine product, and so far so good. I talked to the company and made sure I had complete instructions, which are also included with the kit. They recommended I do the process overnight, as the Chlorine Dioxide is less effective in sunlight. So I started the kit at 7:30 pm, and stopped it at 8:00 am the next day. It is a cup that you put a 1/4 inch of warm water in the bottom, then stand a packet up in the cup. You cannot be in the vehicle during the process. The next morning I got in the car, and it smelled like chlorine - like a swimming pool. I put the fan on recirc, no A/C, as the suggested, and ran it for a half an hour - just to make sure any mold or mildew in the A/C would be eliminated. Then at 8:00, I rolled down the windows, removed the cup, and threw it away, as the directions called for. Now it's into two days later, and the car still smells of chlorine. The smell will go away after a few days they told me, so I am waiting to give my final judgement. But, the seats no longer smell like mold, and that was what I was trying for. They also have a money back guarantee. They told me if the first treatment did not completely work, that they would send another kit free of charge. And if that kit did not work, they would refund my $24.95. So those are my results so far. They told me that the top three reasons that people order the product is for cigarette odor, skunk odor, and pet urine.

I haven't seen an update on if you de-stinkified the seat yet, but I removed the passenger seat cushion from Crashy, when I took the seat apart to monkey with the occupant classification system. The cushion comes off fairly easily (there are a bunch of plastic clips along the bottom that hold the sides down). Once removed, the only part that is glued is the top surface (all four sides are free) and the top separates very easily from the foam.

So you mean, maybe she could just replace the foam, not the whole seat? you know that's really good info. I'm following the thread with interest because spilling things on seat can happen VERY EASILY.

Why replace the foam? If you have the seat apart, then wash the fabric & the foam, maybe with detergent. Watch out for any electrical components. You wouldn't want to soak the weight sensors.

I've had a cat pee on a couch, and cleaned it by just hosing down the cushion foam & cover. In my case, I was able to do it while it was fresh (still wet), so I didn't even need any soap. I set both out in the sun to dry after squeezing out the water and everything was OK.

Maybe the cat was a Honda fan ?

Cat pee is tough. I have seen contractors have to remove carpet, padding AND the floorboards to get rid of it. Just when you think it is gone, you will get in your car on a hot day, and it will be back.

BTW, just because somebody hates cats doesn't mean they are mean to people, or other animals, or are destined to be serial killers. Come on people!

Hahahaha! Yeah, maybe he has something against foreign cars ;)

Hating cats is fine. It's a free country, lots of different opinions. Acting on it is probably not OK, though. I think that's all people are trying to say.

I think the posters saying "cat pees, cat out the window" were joking, at least I took it that way and had a laugh, but there were other threads where people mentioned that drivers would go out of their way on the road to kill whatever was crossing the road, for fun. that ain't cool

my 2 c! Peace

Auto Vaccine is AMAZING!!!

I am in the Classic Auto Upholstery Restoration business now for 30 years. I literally get some of the most rotten foul smelling cars on a regular basis. Auto Vaccine was recommended to me from a friend on the police force who uses it for their K9 transports. Since then I have used Biocide System's Auto Vaccine to successfully remove cigarette odor, mold and mildew odor, skunk odor, gas odor, and even upholstery glue odor.

I just received a $3000.00 tip from a very high profile client. I have customized seven cars for him. He brought in a brand new Bentley that I had customized three months back. He went on an overnight sailing trip. He accidentally left a window partly open when he parked his car at the Marina. Some kids thought it would be funny to through their fish caught off the dock into the window. When he got back there wear for rotting fish and fish guts all over the back passengers seat. This is now one of the worst smelling cars I have ever worked on. Luckily there was no discoloration on the leather seats but the smell was putrid.

He was expecting to have to completely reupholster the car but did not want to go through his insurance if at all possible. So he came to me for an estimate.

I felt very bad for him knowing how much he had just spent on the car. I asked him to leave the car for two days to see what I could do. It took two treatments of two Biocide System's Auto Vaccine. A grand total of four units and the car was odor free and completely decontaminated in less than 24 hours! AMAZING!!!
That is a grand total of $79.80 plus shipping. When he asked how much I told him it was on the house.
Needless to say I have a very happy and extremely loyal customer who wrote me a $3000.00 check on the spot as a token of thanks.

FYI
The police officer who recommended it to me suggested I only get it from SMM Distributors or directly from the Biocide Systems web site. They are the only ones carrying the "Biocide System's Auto Vaccine". The label on the pouch should say Biocide Systems on it and is silver. If it doesn't say Biocide Systems its not. It should also come with a money back guarantee.

If you are in the Auto detailing Biz or in need of eliminating odors or just sanitizing your car, I highly recommend this product. 5 stars all the way!!"

Also, we use Natures Miracle from Petsmart in our carpet cleaner with regular carpet shampoo and it makes our carpet smell brand-freakin new again. We have a disabled dachshund that doesn't know when he uses the bathroom and when his belly bands slip off, we will have a trail of dachshund dribble down the carpet ... it isn't pleasant. The Natures Miracle has exceeded my expectations of a urine remover 110% becuase we have tried a LOT of products to try to keep from having to fork over our damage deposit/replace the carpet in our apartment.

Hey,

I'm the original guy who mentioned the Auto Vaccine (aka 08YarisAZ), and I read that review and thought it was the biggest pile of garbage I had seen.

I contacted the firm, biocidesystems.com, and told them I had read this review on Amazon, along with two other reviews that didn't like it. One guy bought a 10 year old car with smoke odors, and the other guy bought one that the sunroof had leaked in. The guy with the smoke odor said it didn't work at all. The guy with the leak said that it did work partially, but he didn't want to spend another $25 for a second kit.

On their website, they have glowing reviews, and who wouldn't on their own sight? So I leveled with him about the lack of reviews for the product. I told them that I was very hesitant to even order it. But, I was sick of the smell, had tried too many things, and I was willing to try it. He said if it didn't work, to contact them and they would send me a second kit free. And if that didn't work, they would refund me the $24.95. The shipping cost of $7 is not refundable.

Now I do not work for them, or even care about them. I was trying to give the OP some help, and am even trying the product at my own expense. The review above is from some shill. No one would park a Bentley with the windows down and get a fish thrown in it. And no one would give a $3000 tip for getting a fish smell out. And I told the supplier that.

Now onto my results. I did the kit over Saturday night into Sunday morning. When it was done, it smelled like bleach. Now it is Thursday, and the bleach smell is subsiding. But, I do smell a trace of the "wet dog" odor coming from my seat cushions (the bottom half). It is not as bad, and it does have a trace of the Febreze that I used the day before I tried the kit. The Febreze odor will go away, but I don't think that the wet dog odor totally will.

So today, I am asking them for the money back or the second kit. The smell did lessen, and maybe another dose will get rid of it. There is a Canadian website that sells the same thing, and it recommends that you use two kits at once.

So that's my story on it.

And by the way, I have had a cat pee on carpet, in closets, etc, and none of the stuff available at Petsmart, Petco, Costco, Sams, Walmart, or anywhere has totally gotten rid of the odor. I have tried Nature's Miracle, Odoban, etc., and they do a good job for a period of time. But get the area wet again with water like from a carpet cleaner, and it comes back. Cat urine is the worst. I can get dog urine odor out, but cat urine has caused me to replace the carpet, the pad, and even take muratic acid to concrete slabs underneath the pad to finally get rid of the smell.

Well, I kind of agree with you there. That story is a little, hmm, I don't know, unbelievable.
